June 2023

The Beginning

VKD Foods & Bakes started its journey in June 2023 with a passion for baking and a dream to create delicious, customized cakes. The journey began from home with multiple recipes, continuous experimentation, and countless rounds of trial and error.

As a self-taught baker, every recipe was learned through dedication, practice, online resources, and hands-on experience. Each challenge became an opportunity to learn and grow.

Aug 2, 2023

First Customer Order

After months of practice and perfecting recipes, VKD Foods & Bakes received its first customer order on 2 August 2023. The positive feedback for the tasty and freshly baked cakes encouraged us to move forward with confidence.

Initially, cakes were supplied to friends, family members, and customers in the surrounding areas, gradually building trust through quality and taste.

2023–2024

Expanding the Product Range

As customer demand increased, VKD Foods & Bakes expanded its offerings to include:

A major milestone was achieved in March 2024 with the successful MSME Registration, marking VKD Foods & Bakes as a recognized small business enterprise.

This registration strengthened the foundation for future growth, business opportunities, collaborations, and expansion.

Today, VKD Foods & Bakes stands as a symbol of dedication, self-learning, and perseverance — a journey that began with a simple passion for baking and evolved into a growing home bakery brand.

About the Founder

Vignaa Keerthiraj

Vignaa Keerthiraj is the founder of VKD Foods & Bakes. Armed with an MSc in IT, she always carried a quiet ambition to build something entirely her own after marriage. Creativity and design have always come naturally to her — a sensibility she credits to her roots in Thanjavur, a place steeped in art, craftsmanship, and an eye for beautiful detail.

What began as a genuine love for baking at home gradually revealed itself as something more — a calling. Cake designing came instinctively to her, and that realization inspired the launch of VKD Foods & Bakes, a brand where creativity meets flavor to craft memorable cakes for every celebration.

Her vision extends beyond the kitchen: to build a thriving cake and pastry café, and eventually launch baking classes and courses that inspire and train the next generation of bakers. She holds a special passion for teaching the art of cake designing to aspiring bakers.
